Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What if I’m not accepted, do I still pay the $50 fee?
A: Nope! The $50 retainer is only collected after you’re accepted and choose to participate. It’s fully refunded upon successful completion of the program. If cost is a barrier, a fee waiver is available in the application — and applying for the waiver won’t affect your candidacy.
Q: How many fellows will be accepted?
A: Between 60–80 fellows will make up our next cohort.
Q: Can I have a full-time job while being a fellow?
A: Absolutely. Sessions are biweekly on Saturdays (10 AM PT / 1 PM ET), with asynchronous activities in between.
Q: What if I can’t attend every session?
A: We get it — life happens! Fellows must attend 7 out of 8 and be cameras-on for the entirety of the sessions to receive their completion refund. That said, we’re flexible if emergencies arise. Please communicate well in advance if you know you’re going to be late or absent.
Q: Is the program open to current college students?
A: We primarily target early-career professionals (0–3 years) post-graduation. However, college students working full-time or preparing to transition into full-time roles are encouraged to apply.
Q: What industries do you accept fellows from?
A: All of them. Whether you’re in healthcare, tech, policy, design, or media — leadership skills are universal.
Q: Is the fellowship global or location-based?
A: 100% virtual and global. We had fellows from 30 countries last year — 93% of whom identified as women of color. We also host optional in-person meetups in cities like LA, NYC, Austin, Dallas, Toronto, and more.
Q: What happens after the fellowship ends?
A: You’ll join our alumni Slack community, stay connected through your cohort channels, and gain access to in-person events and member opportunities year-round.
Q: Is being on camera required?
A: Yes. Out of respect for our speakers (many of whom are senior leaders and executives) — and to build genuine connection — we ask fellows to keep cameras on during live sessions.
Q: Can I join if I’m pivoting industries?
A: 100% yes. Many of us have pivoted ourselves — from nursing to tech, education to business, and beyond. The Fellowship is designed to help you navigate transitions with confidence and community.
