Program Manager (Unpaid)
Remote - Part-Time
Position Overview:
The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of Program and Mentorship Coordinators who organize and execute community and workplace events / interventions across multiple cities. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. The Program Manager will ensure the successful delivery of events that align with the organization’s mission and objectives, fostering community engagement and workplace participation. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, experienced in event logistics, and able to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external partners to drive operational success.
We are seeking Program Managers for the following regions: Northeast US; Southeast US; South US; Midwest US; West US
Key Responsibilities:
Workshops & Curriculum Development: Work closely with the COO and co-founders to develop and refine educational content, case prep workshops, resume building, and career coaching sessions tailored to college women interested in consulting, tech, and/or media
Workplace Improvement Program Development: Work closely with the COO and co-founders to develop and refine workplace solutions to ensure sustainable change in promotion pipelines and women’s workplace experiences
Community Event Oversight: Organize local and virtual events to bring together members of the InventHER community for networking, learning, and mentorship
Large-scale Event Oversight: Plan and execute larger-scale events such as leadership conferences, skill-building workshops, or panel discussions that focus on career advancement for women
Partnerships: Collaborate with partner organizations to host joint events that align with shared goals of empowering young women
Team Leadership: Oversee and provide direction to Program Coordinators and Mentorship Coordinators, offering guidance, support, and professional development to ensure successful event implementation
Budget Oversight: Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective planning and resource allocation while maintaining financial accountability and sustainability.
Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for events, analyzing outcomes to continuously improve future events and strategies
Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, community partners, and vendors to ensure effective coordination and communication for each event
Reporting: Prepare and present post-event reports and feedback, summarizing successes, areas for improvement, and insights to refine future events
Time commitment: 8-10 hours / week
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of work experience in a corporate role
1+ years experience in program management, event planning, or nonprofit operations, with a proven track record of leading regional events or similar initiatives
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team, with strong mentoring and team development skills
Proven ability to translate organizational objectives into effective event strategies, ensuring alignment with mission and impact goals
Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple events simultaneously, managing timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills for public representation, report generation, and team coordination
Experience managing event budgets and ensuring cost-effective execution while maintaining high-quality outcomes
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public policy, or a related field
