Research Analyst (Unpaid)

Position Overview:

The Research Analyst will play a key role in identifying and analyzing evidence-based best practices for promoting workplace habits that ensure the advancement of women into leadership positions. This role involves conducting thorough research on gender equity, workplace policies, and career advancement strategies, with a focus on data-driven insights. The Research Analyst will collaborate with program teams to translate research findings into actionable recommendations for workshops, policy initiatives, and organizational guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a background in gender studies or workplace dynamics, and a passion for advancing women’s careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on workplace habits, gender equity, and promotion pathways to identify evidence-based best practices that support women’s advancement.

  • Literature Review: Analyze existing studies, reports, and case studies on workplace dynamics, promotion practices, and gender inclusion to identify patterns and gaps in the data.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with program teams and leadership to translate research findings into actionable insights and recommendations for workshops and organizational guidelines.

  • Reporting and Presentation: Create detailed reports, presentations, and summaries of findings to inform internal stakeholders and external partners about strategies for promoting women in the workplace.

  • Data Interpretation: Interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify key trends and areas for improvement, ensuring research findings are practical and applicable.

  • Continuous Monitoring: Stay updated on the latest research and trends in gender equity and career advancement, adjusting recommendations as necessary to align with evolving best practices.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate research findings in a clear, accessible manner to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring insights are actionable and aligned with organizational goals.

Time commitment: 2-4 hours / week

Requirements:

  • Pursuing or has Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, gender studies, organizational behavior, business, economics, STEM or a related field.

  • Strong research skills with proven ability to conduct literature reviews, analyze data, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex research findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple research projects, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality, accurate reports and recommendations.

  • Knowledge of workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles, particularly as they relate to career advancement and gender equity.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to address research challenges and provide data-driven recommendations.

  • Attention to detail and ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Pursuing or obtained Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, gender studies, organizational behavior, business, or a related field.
